Patient Education

Clear, visual, impactful

Healthcare is complex. For patients, medical information can be overwhelming, unclear, or even frightening. That’s why we create content that makes patient education accessible, engaging, and easy to understand.

Through video, 2D animations, photography, and other visual tools, we translate difficult medical topics into simple, human-centered stories. Whether it’s explaining a treatment, preparing for surgery, or raising awareness around prevention, our content helps patients feel informed, empowered, and confident.

Because better communication leads to better care.

Our main client: Medify

Medify has been our largest and longest-standing client for over ten years, and we continue to work together with great enthusiasm on the development of video content for patient education modules used by hospitals around the world.

For Medify, we create a wide range of video content that supports patients before, during and after medical treatments. This includes tailor-made videos for specific hospitals, as well as generic content that can be used across multiple institutions and healthcare systems. From highly specialised procedures to broadly applicable patient instructions, our focus is always the same: making complex medical information understandable, accessible and reassuring for patients.

Over the years, we have built extensive expertise in translating medical procedures into clear visual stories. We understand how care processes work, how departments operate, and how patients experience information at different moments in their care journey. This allows us to break down procedures into the right steps, pace the information correctly, and present it in a way that patients can absorb without feeling overwhelmed.

Our collaboration with Medify has taken us into more than 75 hospitals across 8 countries, giving us hands-on experience with virtually every hospital department — from outpatient clinics and operating rooms to diagnostics, endoscopy, and recovery care. This broad experience enables us to work efficiently, respectfully and safely within clinical environments, while maintaining the highest standards of quality and accuracy.

What makes this partnership strong is the combination of Medify’s digital patient education platform and our visual storytelling expertise. Together, we help hospitals worldwide improve patient understanding, reduce anxiety and support better-informed care decisions — through content that truly makes a difference.

Our passion project: 2D animations

One of the newest additions to our expertise at Medify Media is the development of 2D animations for healthcare communication. This approach allows us to translate our years of medical knowledge and production experience into scalable, easy-to-consume visual content that can be deployed quickly and effectively across hospitals.

2D animation enables us to explain complex medical information in a clear, structured and accessible way. By stripping information back to its essentials and visualising it step by step, we create videos that are easy for patients to understand — without oversimplifying the medical reality. This makes 2D animation particularly suitable for generic patient education, where clarity, consistency and reusability are key.

Because animations are not tied to a specific hospital environment, they can be used widely and efficiently. Hospitals are able to implement high-quality patient education content faster, while maintaining a consistent visual and informational standard across departments and locations.

We are currently developing this capability at high speed together with our design studio in Lisbon, where designers, animators and healthcare specialists work closely together to turn medical processes into clear visual stories. The first animations are already being actively used within patient education modules for anaesthesiology, endoscopy and emergency care (ER).

2D animation also proves to be an effective tool for explaining risks, side effects and possible complications. These topics can be difficult to communicate using live-action video, but animation allows us to visualise them in a neutral, non-confrontational way — clear enough to inform, without overwhelming or alarming patients.

By keeping animations visually simple and focused, we help patients better understand what to expect, feel more prepared, and engage more confidently in their care journey. With 2D animation, complex healthcare information becomes approachable, scalable and truly patient-centred.
